Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products and services.

You find a product you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit from each sale that you make. Some affiliate programs also pay you a small amount when someone performs an action on their website, such as filling out a survey or signing up for their email newsletter. Some affiliate programs pay you when one of your readers click on their link, whether they buy something or not.

The most important thing is to choose products and services to represent that your readers already need or would use if they only knew about them. Choose items to promote that are closely related to the subject matter of your website and they will naturally be interested.

I only recommend products as an affiliate that I’m very familiar with – preferably products that I’ve used before which have helped me achieve something. If I’m not confident in the product and I don’t feel it will positively help people, I will not promote it.

I never directly tell anyone to buy a product. I always recommend products based on my experience and in the context of what I’ve done with them or what I’m doing.

Honest affiliate marketing has always worked best for me, so I encourage you to do the same. Don't try to promote offers you don't believe in yourself.

The Most Profitable Affiliate Marketing Niches

One of the most common questions I get asked is, “What is the best way to make money as an affiliate marketer?” This is usually followed by, “What is the best niche to make money as an affiliate?”

Unfortunately, or perhaps, fortunately, there is no single answer. The explanation is quite simple: practically any niche that has a lot of customers and quality affiliate products to sell can be profitable in the long term, provided you take a smart, systematic, business-like approach to your affiliate marketing activity.

That being said, classifying various niches can help identify your interests and strengths. After all, it is your job to make your niche choice as profitable as possible.
